The Magical Christmas, a Sparkly Speed Colouring Video.

I forgot to post my Christmas In July picture here.  Oops… my bad.  I put it up on my FaceBook site and on Instagram and forgot my main site here.  Bad Peta.  With Instagram it’s just too easy to take a photograph and submit it within seconds while sitting at my art table.  It is the best place to find my latest finished works although I almost always will post them eventually here.  Peta Hewitt’s Instagram page.

You’ll see I’m a little further on with my colouring and my monstergirl challenge. 🙂  You will also sometimes see candid photos of the things I love and everyday life.

But back to the sparkly picture above.  I wanted to do a Christmas themed picture for July and what better excuse to break in Lizzie Mary Cullen’s ‘The Magical Christmas’.  I wanted a shiny, sparkly, golden feel to the picture so I started off with colouring the tree gold to set the tone.  The Penguin had to be an emperor penguin in my mind. I particularly enjoyed colouring the girl and I love how the pink and gold really pop in this picture. The rest of the picture just evolved naturally for me.  If you would like to see the video of me colouring this picture you can find it here on YouTube.  Coloured with Derwent Inktense pencils with a white Signo Uniball gel pen for sparkles.

Thank you for posting everything here. I have to admit I like checking in just one place for your updates, as, at 69 yes old, I am not as tech savvy as some of you youngsters. Also, I love reading your blog comments. Thanks for keeping us updated!

Hi Samantha. My blog posts dropped off during the first half of this year due to family and health reasons. I’m working to build it back up to 2 to 3 posts every week. I have a back log of finished work I have yet to show you so there is no lack of material. 🙂

Yes, I understand, and hope my comment didn’t make you feel pressured. I really do appreciate all you do for us. My stroke pain in my right arm has been bad enough some days that my only coloring pleasure has been watching this Inktense coloring video over and over again, so I can appreciate your situation. Thank you so much, again, for keeping me inspired!!!
