Hi everyone, hope you all had a good weekend, and happy belated 4th Of July to all of my US followers.
First of all an apology for my tardiness. I did say I was going to announce the winners on July 5th, which is my birthday… but that turned out to be the problem. Some of you may know that I am an RN and that I work night shifts. I worked the night straddling Monday night and Tuesday morning which means I went to bed and slept for a lot of the day after my shift. I intended to make my announcement post when I got up in the evening but it turned out my family had other plans and I was kidnapped for a big, big family gathering and birthday celebration. By the time I got home I was in no good condition to be judging a pet parade, never mind a colouring competition. Oops.
But… now to the important stuff…
Ohboy… you guys did NOT make this easy for me. I have been overwhelmed by the amount and the sheer fantastic quality of the entries I received. There was at least ten pictures in each category that I would award as winner in a heart beat and it was SOOOOOOO hard to wiggle it down to just one. If I could I would name many many more people as winners. Even though they didn’t all win i have lots of favourites from each category and I’m sure when the gallery of entries goes up in, hopefully, a weeks time you will all have your own favourites too.
The winners of La-Artistino/ Micador colouring contest are…
This picture coloured by Debbie achieved lovely tonal balance with bright colours that work together without competing with each other. I like the soft background suggesting an out of focus bush setting and sky.
Jennifers use of blues, purples and pinks for the floral arrangement on the cake is bright and balanced with lovely white highlights. The shading on the gliders makes them look soft and cuddly. 🙂 And her choice of background colours perfectly frame the picture.
I found Elizabeth’s galaxy theme absolutely enchanting. I like how she has incorporated a glow to all the objects in the picture, the starry sky behind the trees and that beautiful purple black glimmering water.
There you have them. Thank you so very much to everyone who entered. I had a fantastic time looking at all your pictures as they popped up into my in box. As far as I’m concerned you were all winners.
