Coverack. The Magical City.

Now this picture from Lizzie Mary Cullen’s ‘The Magical City’ I am VERY happy with.  Once I figures out how to do the sea ie:same as I do smoke but with greens and blues… darker blues in the distance and more greens in the foreground to give a feeling of depth, plus white gel dots for the foam on the waves, and the buildings ie: looked up pictures of Coverack and saw that their buildings are white washed with a blueish tinge reflected from the sky, this picture came together without any stressy problems.  I used Derwent Inktense pencils and a kuretaki aquabrush to complete this one as with almost all the pictures in this particular book.

As an added bonus.  I filmed all of my colouring and we are finalizing the video so expect to see this picture up as a speed colouring on my Youtube channel sometime this week.

I use Derwent Inktense pencils activated with water from a yellow (fine tipped) Kuretake Zig aqua brush.

Hi Peta – I really love the way you have used the white gel pen on this piece – I’m not sure if you have answered this previously, but what type of pen did you use for this?

I use a Uniball Signo white gel pen manufactured by Mitsubishi Pencil.
